The Nueces County Department of Social Services employs social workers and case workers as well as administrative staff. Social and Case workers are active in the community, networking and advocating for the indigent population of Nueces County. Direct client services include financial assistance with rent, utilities, food, transportation and indigent burials or cremations. Applicants must meet agency criteria and income eligibility.
Nueces County Department of Social Services serves low-income residents of Nueces County by providing emergency financial assistance to meet basic human needs through professional social work services. It is our mission to create a stronger community by helping our clients achieve self -sufficiency.
